Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information FilesTransfer (“we”, “us”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use filestransfer.cc to send large files online. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the service.

Information we collect

• Email address. When you create an account or verify a guest transfer, we collect your email to authenticate you and deliver verification codes and share links.
• File data. The files you upload are stored temporarily so recipients can download them, along with metadata such as file name, size and type.
• Usage & security data. We process limited technical data (such as IP address and request logs) to prevent abuse, apply rate limits and keep the service reliable.
• Cookies. We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising trackers.

How we use your information

• To provide file transfers and generate secure share links.
• To send verification codes and transactional emails.
• To prevent fraud, spam and abuse of the service.
• To maintain, secure and improve FilesTransfer.

How long we keep your files

Transfers are temporary. Every link has an expiry (1, 3, 7 or 30 days), and when a link expires the associated files are automatically deleted from storage. FilesTransfer is not a backup service — please keep your own copy of anything important.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to operate the service:

• Cloudflare R2 — encrypted object storage for uploaded files.
• Resend — delivery of verification and transactional emails.
• Google — optional sign-in if you choose “Continue with Google”.

These providers process data only to perform services on our behalf. We do not sell your personal information or your files.

Security

Files are uploaded over an encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connection to secure cloud storage and shared via a private, unguessable link. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, and share links expire automatically. See our secure file transfer guide for details.

Your choices

• You can delete your transfers at any time from your account.
• You can request deletion of your account and associated data.
• You can decline non-essential cookies via your browser settings.

Advertising

FilesTransfer may display sponsored full-screen background wallpapers. These are served as static images and do not use personal data or cross-site tracking to target you.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
